Description

This study is an attempt to analyze the theistic interpretation of the theory of evolution by Marie - Joseph - Pierre Teilhard de Chardin (1881-1955), a Jesuit Priest, mostly known as a scientist priest and also as a philosopher. He merged the two domains of religion and science which were considered as opposite to each other. He made a synthesis of science and theology and also philosophy. He thought the evolution to be an ideal meeting point of faith and reason. Darwin has explained only the biological evolution while there are two more stages of evolution that the material evolution of small particles into atoms, atoms into molecules and so on prior to the biological one, and the metaphysical evolution of consciousness following it.
