Description

The Whiz Kids are a group of children - and a dog - who explain scientific subjects in a simple and friendly way. This book gives lots of simple facts about floating and sinking in a clear and concise way, including why things float and how submarines work. The information is brought to life by child-friendly practical experiments which allow children to see science at work for themselves. Young readers are helped to observe, explore and ask questions about floating and sinking. Investigative skills are developed through the use of simple "how", "what" and "where" questions. This book encourages children to recognize the properties of different objects and to think about grouping materials.
