He was a linebacker with the University of Connecticut as a college student. He lives in Iowa City, Iowa. Gary Dolphin is the radio play-by-play broadcaster for the University of Iowa football and men's basketball teams for Learfield Sports and the Iowa Hawkeye Sports Network. He has held various other positions on radio and television, including a broadcaster position with Northwestern University athletics.
