Description

Today, the wide difference between the Antioch Christians and modern "Christianity" is so wide that I have been burdened to ask some very critical questions. Who is a Christian? What is the real definition of the word Christianity? And what could be the secret behind the power of those few believers at Antioch compared to the "sea" of Christians today without power, influence, and impacts?. These and other burdens about the need for a change prompted me through the inspirations of the Holy Spirit to pen down this book simply titled: "The Antioch Lifestyle." In view of the urgency of this matter and in other not to over abuse that special title- "Christian and Christianity," I have decided to undertake a prayerful deep thought to present this book as an apologetic theme to properly address this number one and most critical issue. Truly, as it was repeatedly emphasized by our seasoned and renowned mentor of blessed memory, Myles Munroe who said and I quote, "The abuse of a thing is inevitable if the purpose is not known." The term Christian and Christianity have been greatly over abused that I think we need to revisit Antioch and inquire about the lifestyles of those few early disciples who virtually turned the world upside down due to their remarkable lifestyle and impacts. Today and in virtually every street in Nigeria and most cities in the world are overcrowded with buildings, temples, cathedrals and what have you. Into these places of worships, every day, weeks and months are crowded with so-called "Christians." But how many of these folks and worshippers truly understand and know the true meaning and implications of the word Christian? We cannot be in a hurry and be faster than our legs. The issue of proper understanding of the identity and knowledge is paramount to God our Heavenly Father who desires that"they that worship Him must worship in Spirit and in Truth." It is either you are lost as a non-Christian or hypocritical pretender or a true Christian living in Christ and impacting your world positively through His indwelling Holy Spirit and grace. For as Prophet Daniel rightly stated in Daniel 11: 32- "The people that do know their God they shall be strong and do exploits." In the same vein, the apostle from Antioch, Paul of Tarsus once wrote a noteworthy statement that reads: "Examine yourselves, whether ye are in the faith; prove your own selves. Know ye not your own selves, how that Jesus Christ is in you, except ye be reprobates?" - 2 Corinthians 13:5You cannot be a reprobate then expect to turn and move the world for God. Few indeed who knows and understand their right positioning as IMAGO DEI, representing God as ambassadors on earth have impacted greatly and change the world. Hence, the earth and all things are groaning in pains waiting for the manifestations of the true sons of God-Rom8; 19-25. So to keep things straight up and to fully represent and to glorify God on earth, we need to re-visit the city of Antioch to find out what were the unique lifestyle and characteristics that conferred that image and power of Christ Jesus on ordinary men and women and made them real shakers and movers for God and His kingdom. If you are ready, then let us go as we examine together in the next chapter: The Men from Antioch. Welcome and tighten your seat belts for you are about to experience a heaven world supernatural living for a definite change and revolution
