Description

John Simpson, a British architect of international stature, is a prominent figure among the great classicists at work today. This book focuses on residential, commercial, institutional architecture and interior design by eminent London based classical architect John Simpson. Highlights from the book include the Queen's Gallery, Buckingham Palace, and other work for the British royal family, the new school of architecture building at Notre Dame in South Bend, indiana, and the magnificent country house Buckhurst Park in Windsor, England.

Author Biography:

John Simpson studied architecture at University College London. He has received numerous coveted and prestigious awards, including the Palladio Award, the Royal Institute of British Architects Award, The Royal Fine Arts Commission Trust Building of the Year Award, the American Institute of Architects Honor Award, and the Arthur Ross Award of the Institute of Classical Architecture, among many others. David Watkin is professor of the history of architecture at the University of Cambridge.
