Description

Dear Readers of the award-winning first edition ("The Well by Colleen Golden). Please Note: This is a revised, second edition. "Who knew that being in a coma could be so entertaining?" asks Grace, a Midwest farm wife who is busy creating her own alternative world in a place she calls Possibilities. Things aren't so peachy in her real world, what with family members going through all kinds of contortions to awaken her, and bad actors in her nursing home. But in her "dream world," Grace can sing and sculpt pretty much anything and anyone...so where to begin? If only it weren't for that peculiar well that appeared without her permission. She can hear voices echoing from loved ones, but they can't hear her. Maybe if she drops down some really heavy rocks? Maybe if she appeals to the odd cowboy hero who keeps flirting in and out of her picture? Maybe if she hitchhikes a ride in their thoughts? "Is that even allowed?" Things get serious when her family realizes they must withdraw her life support, and she takes the ultimate step of jumping into the well to save her new world. Because in the end, whether in the Heartland or land of heart, in a coma or a cosmos, love is the best conduit of all.
