Barrylairg is a fictitious town in the northwest of Scotland. The population is in the region of nine thousand. Newly promoted Sergeant Jimmy Miller runs the normally quiet local police station along with his two constables, Tam Blake and Gary Ward.Jimmy is about to get a surprise start to his promotion. A skeleton is discovered on the nearby Barrylairg estate, PC Gary Ward takes a call from the local fire Chief, Grant Quinn, who asks to speak to Jimmy as soon as possible.Sgt. Miller and PC Blake immediately head out to Barrylairg Estate. Chief Inspector Alec Burns is in charge of police headquarters, Inverness. His next in command is Detective Inspector Ian Ewing. They receive a telephone call from Sgt. Miller and an international investigation is about to begin.
