Description

The book "The Coming of Jesus" is in two parts. The first part titled 'The Christmas Story' restates the gospel account of the birth of Jesus in a modern way. It aims at being a realistic account which can explain the gospel events. Why did Joseph, a widower with six children, decide to marry Mary? Why did the Jews go to their tribal centres for a Roman census? When King Herod ordered the killing of all boys under the age of two in Bethlehem, what military plan was worked out by the Chief of Security to achieve this? The second part is the Nativity Play in two acts. The first act consists of the birth of Jesus and the visit by the shepherds. The second act is set in Bethlehem a year later. The Magi arrive and worship Jesus. After receiving warnings in dreams from God, the Magi escape to their own country, and Joseph and his family escape to Egypt.
