Description

BASED ON A SHOCKING TRUE STORY This fast-paced, breathtaking and painfully heartbreaking tale spans four continents and is so intensely shocking you will be left spellbound. The Devil's Grip has something 'special' weaving its way through the pages of extraordinary obstacles, the horrors this young boy had to endure and how quickly he lost his innocence and childhood - the intangible thread of hope. A fundamentally good-hearted human being, JR Rothwell, as a young man, had no choice but to enter the world of crime. Existing on a day-by-day basis, Rothwell never once gave up on trying to find his way to conform to what most would regard as an 'ordinary' life. From abusive parents to violent criminal activity, Rothwell takes us from the USA to the Middle East to Sydney, Australia where he becomes a paramount criminal underworld figure all the while experiencing the common thread that those who were closest to him were the ones who betrayed him the most.

Author Biography:

JR Rothwell is the author of the debut novel The Devil's Grip. His identity is cloaked for reasons that will become apparent once you have read the book. Primarily due to the fact that he is not enthusiastic about being incarcerated, moreover to safeguard the identities and reputations of the characters in The Devil's Grip. This debut novel is the first of the Devil's Playground series, and will be followed with Burned out Paradise and Angel of a Small Death. JR Rothwell does not take popular demand into consideration when writing nor what others think and will tell it how it is straight from the heart. This writing is about actual life, tangible pain, real emotion. Publishers advised JR Rothwell that The Devil's Grip is too dangerous and motivating which is not what they are looking for, and that they would prefer to go with something safer. Although this author did not and will not ever conform to mainstream demand.
