Historian Liam Kelly has written a Rolls-Royce of a book on the fascinating history of this diocese and the history of Catholic, Church of Ireland, and Presbyterian parishes. Kelly tells a tale of monasteries, the reformation, plantations, rebellions, and the ensuing chaos. Of course there are plenty of interesting disputes and persecutions. Coming closer to our own time, there were divisions and diversity followed by decades of revolution.
