Description

The EERO Link by Betty Fox While working at a block of flats, a young window cleaner, Pieter Willenski, sees a woman being battered to death by someone he thinks is a burglar. Pieter is a Bosnian asylum seeker who is reluctant to get involved with the police, and decides to report the matter to a private detective (Deborah Vale) who is based in the next block of flats. The woman who was attacked, a Mrs Cathy Watson, is an executive of a charity called EERO (East European Refugee Organisation) which brings refugees from Bosnia to England, getting them jobs and accommodation.................... What is happening behind the scenes at the offices of EERO? Flamboyant Private Investigator Deborah Vale and her resourceful assistant, Rosie Dunne, start to make discreet enquiries and soon find themsleves embroiled in a web of fraud, drug smuggling, blackmail and murder. Can they unravel the mystery in their usual quirky and unorthodox manner? Human interest abounds with touches of light humour.

Author Biography:

Betty Fox was born in London, just before the Second World War, and spent the war years being evacuated first of all to Brighton and then a village in Hertfordshire and finally Luton. Having completed her education, she embarked on a varied career initially in the entertainment industry and then as an administrator for an American oil company and several charities. Betty turned to writing and created the fascinating and quirky private investigators, Miss Deborah Vale, a rather flamboyant eccentric character who stays at the office while her practical assistant, Rosie Dunne performs the active side of the detection work. This is Betty's first full length novel, "The EERO Link (East European Refugee Organisation)" featuring the two detectives. Her volume of short stories "Deborah Vale - Private Detective (Casebook 1-11)" is also available as an eBook or in paperback.
