Description

Unlock the hidden meanings of the world's ancient and modern signs and symbols with this huge A-Z reference book on symbolic objects. The Encyclopedia of Secret Signs and Symbols is the definitive A-Z guide to the ancient meanings of signs and symbols, some of which have been lost for thousands of years. From different cultures and religions across the world, within these illustrated pages are signs of magic and mystery, secret alphabets, scripts, and numerology. Find out why Masonic temples have black-and-white checkered floors, where in the natural world the golden mean can be found, why the pentagram is considered a magical symbol of power, and more.

Author Biography:

Adele Nozedar has long been fascinated by the power of symbols and visual signs, which led her to the formal study of alchemy. Her interest in psychology and how the unconscious mind works inspired her study of ancient myths, art, film, and the esoteric in all forms. (She was also born into a long line of psychics.) Adele belongs to the Order of Bards, Ovates, and Druids, and is a healer and color therapist. Adele's other passion is music--she is founder and owner of a music studio called Twin Peaks in the Brecon Beacons, Wales, and formerly was one of the few women in the music industry to run a record label. She is the author of The Illustrated Signs & Symbols Sourcebook, Freaky Dreams, The Secret Language of Birds, The Element Encyclopedia of Secret Signs & Symbols, and The Element Encyclopedia of Native Americans.
