Author Biography:

Johnnie W. Lewis is the author and self-taught illustrator of "The Five Finger Paragraph(c)" and "The Writing Police" series of books and Learning Aids, "Flutterbye, the Butterfly" series of books (an entire Science/Nature unit in each book), along with novels, memoirs, and how-to books. As a Navy brat, Johnnie moved so often that she missed many things. As a college freshman, she found out that one of the most important things missing from her education was how to write an essay. After failing one English course and almost failing it the second time, she suddenly realized one day in class, at the age of 24, HOW to format that essay to guarantee an "A"!! She never made less than an "A" on an essay or term paper ever again! Although Johnnie has allowed her K-4 Teaching Certificate "collect rust and dust," she uses her knowledge in her books, which are designed to help teachers and students. Johnnie's innate sense of "write" and wrong has led her to many fields of the discipline -- humor, romance, education, editing, plays, poetry, and technical writing. As long as her computer works, Johnnie is happy writing!
