Description

Flip Grater is a renowned kiwi singer/songwriter, who boasts her own Indie record label and owns Grater Goods, a plant-based delicatessen based in central Christchurch. In her professional life she is a successful chef and recipe writer, developing her vegan recipes and Grater Goods products that are sold in retailers throughout Aotearoa. In her precious spare time you'll find her chilling with French husband Youssef and five-year-old daughter Anais. Flip and Youssef met in Paris in 2012 where she was recording her album Pigalle, and moved Back to Flips native New Zealand in 2018. Grater Goods is a little slice of Paris in industrial Sydenham. A fully plant-based menu of European-inspired deliciousness. Showing everyone who walks in the door that we no longer have to choose between pleasure and principles. This book highlights food that is truly delicious and about indulgence, yet happens to be good for you and the planet. Over 60 European-inspired, adaptable dishes, ranging from Seitan sausages, cassoulets and breads to super easy spreadable cheeses, pates, crackers, delectable desserts and plant-based baking and cooking. These recipes are edible activism, ethical hedonism. They're mostly unfussy, unpretentious and shareable. Flip encourages you to gather around tables, break bread and leave a ton of crumbs like the French do.

Review: ‘To prepare a dish for oneself, family or friends is a gift for the soul, because food is nature, and Mother knows best. Between the covers of this beautiful book, Flip proves we don't need to go too far from the simplicity of nature to grant ourselves the beauty of delicious plant-based cooking. Every page is filled with the melody of Flip's love of family and food, her attachment to humankind and her wonderful kindness as a human’. Jax Hamilton, Celebrity Chef, Author
