Joseph Kennedy is an aged man, but you can't tell it by talking with him. Born in the first third of the twentieth century, he brings nineteenth century value along with him. His passion is words and punctuation. He may not string them together well, but he loves what he writes. And what he writes is about Jesus Christ, whether he is writing fiction or serious stuff. His old-timey view of the Word of God, indeed of God Himself, causes him to write words that are not very popular today. No "new scholarship" foolishness about Jesus can be found here. Kennedy was blessed as he returned from creation lectures in Philadelphia. In a small Pennsylvania town he came across a big yard sale. There he found two books that were quite old. He ran to the car to get money; and when he got back, one of the books had been sold, but he bought the other. What a treasure! It was The Life and Letters of Saint Paul. He was amazed by what this book revealed from both the Bible and secular history. With this book as a guide he wrote The Invalid Warrior in four months, working twenty hours a day. Honest. Then he wrote two more smaller books to complete the life of Paul from birth to death. Kennedy's own life began in Bristol, Virginia, when he was born to sixteen-year-old Ruth. His daddy, Harmon, was struggling to make a living in the Great Depression. Kennedy's earliest memories are of church activities: Sunday school, plays, good music. He taught little boys when he was only twelve at Tennessee Avenue Baptist Church in Bristol. But, alas, he lost his interest in spiritual matter when he went into the Air Corps in WW II, and made many mistakes. After graduating from Tennessee Temple, he taught in Christian schools, some of which he set up. After seven years in public schools he was fired for teaching Bible in his class room. He earned a M.A. and a doctorate, but still unable to get a satisfactory job, he began driving an over-the-road truck. Great fun! After retirement he went to Russia a couple of times, and served five years giving Creation lectures here in the States. You might enjoy his books about Creation. Kennedy is now engaged in establishing a Released Time school. His desire is to be as accurate and truthful as possible in all he writes. May God be glorified in all that he does.
