The Jaguar XJS Book by Nigel Thorley
Sorry, this product is not currently available to order

The Jaguar XJS was one of the finest grand touring cars of its era even if, when launched in 1975, it raised a few eyebrows. It survived the British Leyland days, Jaguar's privatisation and the takeover by Ford, and is now much in demand as an affordable and practical classic car. This all-colour book, now available in paperback, covers the full road car and competition history as well as practical matters such as maintenance and modification. It is essential reading for all Jaguar enthusiasts.

Table of Contents

How the XJS came about, development, styling, and marketing strategy. Pre-HE models, HE models from 1981 to 1991, the Convertible and the XJRS. Six-cylinder pre-facelift cars, the 3.6-litre models from 1983, and the Cabriolet. The facelift era, GBP50 million model changes, the 4-litre cars, later XJRS, and Convertible. Post-1993 production changes, 6-litre models, and the commemorative Celebration cars. Buying an XJS, ownership, maintenance and modifications, with additional updated information on later models. What the press said, specification and performance figures for all models, and details of specialists and clubs.
