After the war against the Zulus Georgie, Patrick and Ellen go their separate ways until fate conspires to bring them back together. In the rough, tough diamond town of Kimberly they meet again and reap rich reward until disaster strikes and they find themselves drawn onto a new and dangerous path. Swept along by those same events Nkosinathi, a proud Zulu warrior, witnesses the disintegration of the Zulu nation. Forced to watch his people suffer from the greed of their new master and the tribal rivalry plagueing the land he resolves to save his people by any means possible and in doing so makes a mortal enemy of Rabanina, the favourite son of their new master, and he vows to destroy him.
