We look at the life of Ched Towns, a visually impaired triathlete from Penrith who, as a volatile youth refused to accept that he was losing his sight, and nearly cost himself his wife and family. We trace the lives of Ched and his wife Judy (or Doodie, as she is known in the video) from the early days of their trials and tribulations dealing with Ched's vision lost, through the radical 'bee-sting' therapy he embarked upon in a last ditch effort to save his vision, to his acceptance of his ailment and the subsequent changes that arose from Ched's new found positive outlook on life. Ched Towns was a remarkable man surrounded by an equally remarkable family in Jude, Karlie and Caine. From paddling a kayak from Australia to New Guinea and trekking the Kokoda Trail, to exploring the depths as a scuba diver and free-fall parachuting, to climbing the Himalayas which eventually cost him his life, Ched did it all and more.
