Lets be honest,The Omen was the best and biggest picture to dawn movie screens in 1976,within its first year of release it made over 100.000.000 for 20th Century Fox at the box office, saved the studio from bankrupcy and from its massive box office takings helped Fox put up the cash for another little project they were developing at the time, namely,Star Wars. Hollywood snubbed the picture at the Academy Awards, shame on them for doing so as they classed the picture as simply a horror movie, but horror it certainly was not. Director Richard Donner created a movie that even today thrills and chills audiences who watch it,not to mention the star studded cast who grace the screen,Gregory Peck,Lee Remick,David Warner to mention but a few, they all should have won oscars for their amazing performances as indeed should have the picture that year. A classic then,a classic now…
