With clarity and insight, this book, drawing on the extensive high-quality databases created over the last decade stemming from the International Social Survey Program and the European Social Survey, makes an important contribution to the growing literature of theoretically informed comparative work.

Author Biography:

Stefan Svallfors is Professor of Sociology at Umeå University, Sweden. He is the author of The Moral Economy of Class: Class and Attitudes in Comparative Perspective (Stanford, 2006) and the editor of Analyzing Inequality: Life Chances and Social Mobility in Comparative Perspective (Stanford, 2005).
