Description

The gods are dying and the world they have ruled for time out of mind is dying with them. All seems well for now in their vast Garden, but beyond the great Rim Wall that keeps it secure, the rains are failing, deserts are encroaching, and prayers are lost to the howling winds. The people of the outer nations watch the heavily guarded wall with hungry eyes, knowing that they or their children will one day starve or die trying to breach its defenses. And then, the unheard-of happens. A warrior, bred to serve and protect the gods with unthinking loyalty, asks a question.

Author Biography:

Graeme K. Talboys was born in Hammersmith. He has had nine works of non-fiction published (on museum education, drama, and matters spiritual) and written more than a score of novels. The first of those (written when he was seventeen) was lost on a train. The next two (written in his early twenties) he wishes had been. Thankfully, hes had considerably more success with writing since then with short stories, poems, and many novels published. His previous jobs have included market gardener, shelf stacker, pot boy, sandwich maker, and factory floor maintenance operative (broom provided). As an adult his first job was acting, followed by teaching Drama and English. Some of his pupils still speak to him. He later worked in museums where he felt right at home among the ancient, broken objects. He now lives in Scotland.
