1968 Springville, Minnesota School has just let out and summer vacation is on the horizon for ten-year-old Anna Hendricks, and her sisters. That summer is historically ingrained in the minds of adults and children alike. Bobby Kennedy had been assassinated only two months after the assassination of Reverend Martin Luther King, Jr. The summer is filled with curiosity, conflict, cause and consequence. Tragedy and death invade the folks of Springville in unexpected ways. Young Anna is a quiet and sensitive child, concerned about those around her, to the point of anxiously, and secretly, bearing a load of guilt.
