Katy Sloop Roberts has a passion for encouraging. As a physical therapist, she helps patients reach their goals, as a coach, she helps runners set personal records, and as an author, she hopes to fill you with a desire to encourage your friends and family. Katy and her husband first visited Venice in 2018 to celebrate Katy's birthday. She loved the bright colors, unique culture, delicious food, and getting lost in the narrow streets. When Katy's family moved to Aviano, Italy in 2019, they enjoyed taking the train to Venice. They discovered the best pizza, life-changing gelato, and the most unique bookstore you've ever seen.After years of moving for school and Air Force assignments, Katy is settled in Ocean Springs, MS with her husband, their two sons, and Lucky, the Italian Superhero cat who enjoys walking across her laptop.www.lunaandfortuna.com Dan Dye is an artist with a love for painting, drawing, and silversmithing. By first grade, he had his own artistic style, and he got in trouble for not coloring in the lines. His mother reprimanded the teacher sating, "Dan doesn't have to color within the lines!" She was right.Dan and his wife visited Venice in 2016. He painted the illustration in chapter eleven from his hotel room. That room also inspired the Wellington's library. Dan has been a generous volunteer for the Red Cross since 1975, giving eighty pints of whole blood and over 560 platelet donations. He lives in Raleigh, NC with his wife. They have two grown daughters and two granddaughters.You can find Dan every October at the North Carolina State Fair in the Village of Yesteryear where he sells his sterling silver jewelry and Christmas ornaments.www.dandye.com
