Morgan Strangely is alone. His mother is long-dead, his drunken father is missing and Nazi bombers launch deadly attacks on his home town. Then a chance encounter with a hero Spitfire pilot leaves him witness to a murder, propelling him headlong into an adventure which holds the fates of two worlds in the balance. He discovers magic is real - and a creature of immense power is controlling events on Earth, feeding from the pain and fear of war from its hiding place in another dimension. Morgan's past holds the key to the future of Earth and Middlemost, a fantastical dimension where magical energy is not suppressed and mystical races still live. Morgan must open a portal - which once allowed the peoples of both worlds to coexist - and help them battle this nightmare creature and defeat its army of the undead.
