Author Biography
Haemin Sunim ('Spontaneous Wisdom') is a Buddhist monk. Born in Korea, he moved to the United States to study film at UC Berkeley, only to find himself pulled into religious studies while pursuing his master's and doctorate degrees at Harvard and Princeton. He is the first Korean monk to teach religion at a US college, having been on the faculty of Hampshire College in Amherst, Massachusetts. He divides his time between New York and South Korea.%%%Haemin Sunim (Author) Haemin Sunim is one of the most influential Zen Buddhist teachers and writers in South Korea, where his books have sold more than three million copies and are popular as guides not only to mediation but also to overcoming the challenges of everyday life.
