Description

In Daejeon, South Korea, two American expats find themselves caught up in a twisted scheme of lust, greed, and death. Can they find a way out of this labyrinth, or are they destined to die half a world away from their homes and loved ones? Michael Gilbey is in South Korea to escape the shadow of his father, Herman, who is a cheerful soul, a degenerate gambler-and a wanted man. Gilbey has grown up dodging his father's creditors and has run as far away from his old life as he could. In South Korea, Gilbey spends his time with fellow expat James Eckhart, enjoying the dangerous delights that await him in the city nicknamed the "Neon Hell." But Gilbey's luck can't last forever. When Eckhart calls his attention to a shady scheme involving seductive heiress Bo Kyung, Gilbey finds himself pursued by dangerous men and pushed to the breaking point. Creditors aren't the only ones after Gilbey's father. He has angered a powerful and relentless man-and now the son may suffer for the father's mistakes. With The Truth the Dead Know, author R. W. Kennedy has crafted a slick revenge tale-complete with unexpected twists and surprising secrets.
