Description

The Turn of the Screw is a classic ghost story--or is it? The author leaves it to you to decide whether the supernatural is real here or if it's in the governess's head.

Author Biography:

Henry James (1843-1916) was an American writer who settled in England. He had an affinity for ghost stories--not the typical apparitions, though. He liked quiet and eerie extensions of reality blending into the supernatural. The best example is The Turn of the Screw. He also wrote novels that do not delve into the supernatural. Among his best are The Portrait of a Lady, The American, Washington Square, The Bostonians and The Wings of the Dove.
