Len Robertson grew up on a farm in Montesano, Wash, with parents and two younger sisters. He graduated from Montesano High School; attended Western Washington University as an undergraduate and the University of Washington as a graduate student; went to work for the Illinois Youth Center in St. Charles in 1990 as an English and computer teacher; and married wife Linda in 1975. He has two daughters, a son-in-law and one grandson. He retired in 2006, which sparked the beginning of his writing career. Robertson describes himself as interesting, sometimes off-topic but also sometimes too talkative.
