Author Biography:

CAROLINE SUMPTER Lecturer in Victorian Literature at Queen's University, Belfast, UK. She has written on nineteenth-century literature, science and culture in journals including Victorian Studies, Literature and History, Media History, Cultural and Social History and Nineteenth-Century Contexts.
