Description

AN ADDICTIVE MUST-READ WHODUNNIT FROM THE NEWEST TALENT IN CRIME FICTION. Every family has its secrets. This one's worth killing for . . . It starts with an altercation in the dead of night. Two men rowing outside Coffin Cove Museum. Professor Gerald Weber comes off worst. He's found dead the next morning. Head beaten to a bloody pulp. As for the second man? He fled the scene and can't be found . . . Now the police are hunting him. But town sleuth Andi Silvers knows she needs to find him first. The missing man is no killer. He's Andi's father. But if he's not guilty then why did he run? Andi will stop at nothing to clear her father's name. But then a second body is found on nearby Quadra Island. Professor Gerald's 100-year-old father. He's been bludgeoned too. Left for dead in his cottage across the Vile Narrows, a treacherous stretch of water that separates Quadra Island from the mainland. First the son, then the father. Will Andi's family be next? Discover a tangled web of murder and mystery in this breathlessly twisty whodunnit set on the gorgeous coast of Western Canada. Fans of Louise Penny, Elly Griffiths, L.J. Ross, Ann Cleeves, Jane Adams, Joy Ellis and Lisa Regan will devour this mesmerizing crime thriller.

Author Biography:

Jackie is originally from the UK, but she settled on Vancouver Island, Canada in 2004. She's married to Bob, a commercial fisherman and accomplished storyteller - like most fishermen! It was a culture shock to swap a fast-paced city life for Island living. It wasn't at all how Jackie had expected. She was intrigued by the pioneer spirit of their small communities, and the fight to hang on to traditional ways of living. In her experience, small towns 'with a heart' have claws and teeth as well and that makes the perfect back drop for a good murder! When Jackie's not writing, she is gardening, reading, or poking around local museums, looking for inspiration.
