Author Biography:

Herb Knoll knows the profound grief that comes with being a widower. After his wife, Michelle, died in 2008, he looked through the self-help section of his local bookstore but quickly realized there were few resources available for widowers. Knoll wrote The Widower's Journey, a guide designed to help other widowers heal. Knoll is a retired bank executive, marketer, and professional speaker and seminar leader turned widower advocate. He founded Michelle's Angels Foundation, Inc., a not-for-profit with a mission to "provide love, hope, compassion, and comforting music to those who quietly suffer." (See MichellesAngel.com.) Knoll also founded the Widowers Support Network in 2014 (see WidowersSupportNetwork.com), so he could better serve, comfort, and assist widowers. Knoll has served as a weekly columnist for the Rochester Democrat & Chronicle, a contributing writer for Sales & Marketing Management and Marketing Times magazines, and as a professional voice talent. PBS affiliate WNED produced and aired the three-part series Today's Executive featuring Herb and his business insights which were the subject of his book, The Total Executive. As the former spokesperson for KeyBank (NY) and later as president of Marketplace Bank (FL), Knoll frequently appeared on radio and television. A dynamic public speaker, Knoll has been the featured speaker at conferences, conventions, universities and corporate gatherings across the country. Knoll won the first annual Piero DiMitri Executive Image Award and was inducted into the Buffalo/Niagara Sales and Marketing Executives Hall of Fame. Knoll lives in Lake Mary, Florida, with his current wife, Maria.
