Description

“Metal as well as Rock, from the head as well from the heart” – Classic Rock DE

“Their blend of indie-rock and alternative metal has emotion and depth” – Buzz Magazine

Returning after their 2020 release ‘Inescapable’, Progressive Metal luminaries Godsticks unveil their new masterstroke, ‘This Is What A Winner Looks Like’ on May 26th via Kscope.

Sonically, Godsticks marry effortless technicality with earworm melodies to create an offering that surpasses their previous album, ‘Inescapable’ that many deemed as the zenith of their sound. The album is their most collaborative effort to date, incorporating electronic elements alongside their trademark metallic edge. ‘This Is What A Winner Looks Like’ represents an evolution and furthers each facet of the band’s identity in a contemporary and refreshing fashion.

As an indirect impact of the pandemic much of the lyrical concept of ‘This Is What A Winner Looks Like’ was inspired by TV shows that band leader Darran Charles immersed himself in during this trying time but also takes influence from the crushing inability to escape from the void of live performance. Something the band deeply cherish.

‘This Is What A Winner Looks Like’ was produced by James Loughrey (Skindred / Def Leppard) with mastering from Maor Appelbaum and was recorded at the legendary Rockfield Studios (Queen / Black Sabbath / Devin Townsend etc…)
