Author Biography:

Gary Richards has over 30 years' experience developing and conducting Continuing Legal Education (CLE) seminars on professional effectiveness and practice management for lawyers. Participants in his courses have received CLE and ethics credits from 18 state bar associations. Gary has addressed the ABA's national convention in Hawaii and the Young Lawyers' chapters in Chicago and New Orleans. His CLE programs have been offered by State Bar associations, including Missouri, Indiana, Ohio, Colorado, Nevada, North and South Carolina, Massachusetts, Oregon, and Washington State. He also presents national webcasts for American Law Institute-CLE. Gary coaches individual lawyers in the US, Canada and Australia on practice effectiveness skills such as business development and legal project management in his role as Principal, LegalBizDev. He also designs and instructs training programs for a wide range of corporate and government clients, including U.S. Forest Service, Gen. Services Administration, Defense Logistics Agency, Pfizer, Ford, GM, PWC, Exxon and Sprint. Besides his workshops in the US and Canada, Gary has conducted training in the UK, Belgium, Holland, Brazil, and Egypt. His consulting background began with project management training at KPMG/Peat Marwick, where he was manager of employee benefits consulting for 7 regional offices. Gary lives in white Lake Michigan.
