The exhibition Time Out: Art and Sustainability/Auszeit: Kunst und Nachhaltigkeit at Kunstmuseum Liechtenstein, May-September 2007, explored how artists have tackled these themes over the last 40 years. Central to the exhibition were various artistic statements on the relationship of man to history, nature, ecology, the accelerated rhythm of life, and sustainability. Works from the 1970s entered into a dialogue with contemporary works made by artists such as Giovanni Anselmo, Michael Buthe, Gloria Friedmann, On Kawara and Lia Perjovschi in such a way that the substantive relationship were often only revealed after a second glance.
