Description

Timo sets off to catch a big fish to prove to his father and brothers that he is a real fisherman, but the adventure that he and his dog Pou have at sea is more than Timo was expecting. Timo's fishing trip starts to unravel when he doesn't follow the custom of throwing back the first fish caught.

Author Biography:

The author Mokena Potae Reedy (Ngati Porou) is a past winner in the Huia Short Stories Awards. A fluent speaker and writer in te reo Maori and a talented storyteller, he writes stories that provide a rich mix of the modern and traditional Maori world. He has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of tikanga Maori and an enthusiasm for legends and whakapapa. The illustrator Jim Byrt has worked as a traditional animator, flash animator storyboard artist, illustrator, game artist and game animator. He has worked on games for award-winning flash game companies, provided artwork for notable advertising companies and illustrated many children's books. His work has been shown on animated television shows, notably for Disney, Warner Brothers, Nelvana and Bro'Town, and he has created the artwork for thirteen flash games, including Bloons2, played by millions of people.
