To Kill A Mockingbird: 60th Anniversary Edition – Blu-ray
Scout Finch, 6, and her older brother Jem live in sleepy Maycomb, Alabama, spending much of their time with their friend Dill and spying on their reclusive and mysterious neighbor, Boo Radley. When Atticus, their widowed father and a respected lawyer, defends a black man named Tom Robinson against fabricated rape charges, the trial and tangent events expose the children to evils of racism and stereotyping.
Critic Reviews:
- " It’s a multifaceted story that’s told with a great visual and technical style and that isn’t ashamed to address the deep-rooted problems of that day. " – Keith Garlington (Keith & the Movies)
- " After the film's pivotal court case is over, a coda takes place on one long October night, in which all the film's themes of crime, prejudice and scapegoating come together in a moment of autumnal horror. " – Anton Bitel (BFI)
- " Atticus is certainly an idealistic character, but he is also a struggling father and lawyer. Gregory Peck's performance in the film is perfect for the character. " – Sarah Brinks (Battleship Pretension)
