Patrick Swayze plays Vida Boheme, a classy and long-reigning drag queen, who with Noxeema Jackson (Wesley Snipes), wins a New York drag stage contest and an all-expenses paid trip to Hollywood. Miss Chi Chi Rodriguez (John Leguizamo) then joins them in a yellow Cadillac in what turns into a high-camp buddy road movie, with the three cross-dressers travelling across the American heartland.
