First time visitors to Lake William, Wisconsin and Anderson County, Brian Purkett and Brianna Collins meet while participating in the summer/fall retreat at Camp MacClean. After a tragic accident, they soon discover that they share a secret from their past and only one person can provide them with the information needed to resolve all of their unanswered questions. Marge Schendler, Anderson County's department head of social services, holds the key to unlock the door that will reveal all of the details of Brian's and Brianna's past. But in her moral dilemma she must decide whether to divulge this information to the living or stay silent and honor the wishes of the dead.
