An ancient evil is loose and causing mysterious disappearances throughout both the kingdoms of An Peirse and Cath Deora. Carl is only fourteen, but as the Eagle Keeper's apprentice, he found himself in the middle of the circumstances that had instilled fear in the minds of the subjects of the twin kingdoms. He must work with his counterpart, Aeyrn, who is from a primitive and secretive group of people, who posses magical powers, and live in the surrounding forest.
