Author Biography:

CHRISTIEN VAN DEN ANKER is Deputy Principal Lecturer in Politics at the University of the West of England, UK, and was previously Deputy Director of the Centre for the Study of Global Ethics at the University of Birmingham, UK. Her research interests include global justice, human rights and the ethical implications of globalization. Her publications include The Political Economy of New Slavery (2004) and, co-edited with R.K. Smith, Essentials of Human Rights (2005).
