Description

Trains 'n' Trees author Franklin David Frisch is retired and still spends time railfanning, however the number of days spent totally dedicated to photography is decreasing. The newer generic diesel engines are not as photogenic as the older first- and second-generation models. The consolidation and shrinking of the number of railroads and amount of trackage greatly reduced the paint scheme variations. Fewer trains moving and the proliferation of grafitti also lower the number of opportunities. Getting older and not quite as active and exploratory as when I was younger, the author now spends more time in the Perfectional Photography studio making matted and framed prints from his favorite photographs, writing books and attending more art shows. Frisch spent eight years in electronics in the USAF and has degrees in Engineering and Business. He also always had an affinity for doing what he undertakes to perfection. As the name of his photo business indicates, he is a perfectionist. He attempts to get the "perfect" shot every time he shoots. "I do not bat 1.000 but I get consistent high-quality, nearly perfect photographs in a majority of my images." This goal oriented engineering mentality along with his desire to do things well and his interest in railroad photography evolved into the opening of a photography studio in 2005. Frisch's photographs have been published in books, magazines and calendars and are on display in several businesses in northeast Indiana.
