Jim Butcher turns out another fantastic addition to his Dresden Files series.

Harry is astounded to find the prone body of his suspicious Sword Of Damocles wielder, Warden Morgan at his door. He is even more surprised to find out that Morgan, staunch defender and partisan of the White Council, is accused of the murder of a Senior Council member and treason against the very council he is sworn to protect. He's on the run and looking to Harry for help.

Despite their differences, Harry can't believe the charges against Morgan, especially considering the recent spate of suspicious events seemingly orchestrated by a shadowy ‘Black Council’. So, not knowing who he can trust, he sets out to find out what really happened.

Thrilling action, suspenseful drama and of course magic, this book has it all. Brilliant.

Description

Jim Butcher's Breakthrough #1 "New York Times" bestseller
The Warden Morgan has been accused of treason against the Wizards of the White Council-and there's only one final punishment for that crime. He's on the run, he wants his name cleared, and he needs someone with a knack for backing the underdog. Like Harry Dresden. Now, Harry must uncover a traitor within the Council, keep a less-than-agreeable Morgan under wraps, and avoid coming under scrutiny himself. And a single mistake could cost Harry his head...

Author Biography:

A martial arts enthusiast whose résumé includes a long list of skills rendered obsolete at least two hundred years ago, #1 New York Times bestselling author Jim Butcher turned to writing as a career because anything else probably would have driven him insane. He lives mostly inside his own head so that he can write down the conversation of his imaginary friends, but his head can generally be found in Independence, Missouri. Jim is the author of the Dresden Files, the Codex Alera novels, and the Cinder Spires series, which began with The Aeronaut’s Windlass.
