Turtle Beach Elite 800 Gaming Headset (PS4 & PS3) reviews

The speaker quality is amazing with all the preset sound options suited for most environments and it is a really comfortable headset to wear but having the dual hidden mics built into the headset leaves it having problems with communicating, others have said my voice sounded distorted and quiet even when speaking loudly so that is a let down

My headset arm broke in July and I logged a support issue with Turtlebeach about getting it repaired (at my cost). They said they are in the middle of changing distributors and would get back to me. I have chased them up with no response. 4 months later there is still no response to emails. There are also no recent firmware updates to fix the loud beep issue.

Original Review: Headset is lightweight enough to be worn for hours, surround sound is great (make sure to setup your PS4 audio properly as per instructions). Everything works pretty much as described.

Noise cancelling is OK but not as good as a Bose headset, probably the weakest feature.

The Bad: The initial version of this headset shipped with a firmware that had voice/beep notifications that were VERY LOUD. It actually hurt my ears.

Turtle Beach have since released an updated firmware that allows you to adjust this, though the mute beep isn't affected and is still quite loud and hurts my ears.

Not sure about these negative reviews best headset ive ever owned and I've had a few well worth the price perfect for movies and games.

Ok so the stuff that sucks..... With noise cancellation on you cannot hear yourself speak . The mic's while functional don't give you the full sexy voice . … Thats it The volume is awesome … The surround is fantastic and fit .. Omg they fit like a glove , Oh and love that they didn't tart them up with led's that you cant see when there on your head or will just reflect on your screen annoying the crap out of you … Logitech 933 … I'm looking at you If you really don't care about the cash and just want something choice .. This is for you . If your gonna cry that its not made from palladium because you blew you're rent on some headphones .. Then your better off buying something cheaper and spending the difference on some phone credit to call someone that cares . Also mighty ape , your service is stupidly good , the online chick I talked too pretty much has a degree in how shits done . Cheers

This product is certainly expensive but the outstanding 7.1 surround sound and the slick design make up for it. It is really easy to set up and use on a PS4 and games come alive in new forms with this headset. Bear in mind that the product requires optical audio connection which was removed in the PS4 slim version.

Thanks mighty ape! Rainbow Six Siege is my main game and these are amazing for it. The presets work perfectly. The sound is spot on with amazing 7.1 Just make sure you set them up right and use the right preset . the IPhone App doesn’t work with them and that came from turtle beach them selfs when I contacted them.

Works well with PS4, good noise cancellation.

A great all around headset been playing around with this quite a lot since i have gotten my pair,great flexibility and the online support from turtle beach is amazing. If you download the program for this headset you can actually load millions of presets onto the headset. Thumbs up for me for now. Works great with android phones,and PS4 one headset for everything.

These take pride and place in my gaming set up. They sound amazing, the only negitive I have had but dosent affect my experience is that others in chat say my voice is slightly different due to this set using hidden mic in the ear cup rather than a boom mic. Great head set have recomended to others.

Impressive sounding with music and games. Issues that have rendered negative feedback on the internal voice have been fixed on the update. Also people have said that they were hard to understand while chatting. By downloading the EAR FORCE HUB app, you can adjust the mic level to suit. The battery life is great for those long gaming sessions. You can listen to music while playing and take mobile phone calls as well. The bass levels and treble are crystal clear and the different sound presets are easy to use and you can choose to add more preset sounds using the app. Highly recommended.

Great for watching movies as well. Bluetooth with phone calls was suprisingly good quality.

Unreal quality, really happy

They sound great…at times. It drops out during quiet moments. The mic is absolute garbage even with the firmware updates. The presets don't do much at all.

Given the choice, I would swap these for Astro A50's.
