Wendi Bird Barnhart was born and raised in Southeast Missouri in the city of Cape Girardeau. Although she moved away in 1990, she and her daughter returned to Cape Girardeau in 1994. Wendi Bird's writing accomplishments include three Editor's Choice Awards for the months of March, May and August, 2007 for outstanding achievement in poetry from the International Library of Poetry. Wendi Bird was also nominated to be the next poet of the year and was selected as a United States of America 2007 poetry ambassador, as well as a member of the International Who's Who in poetry. She was an associate member in good standing during the month of April, 2007 with International Society of Poets. Wendi Bird had a poem published in an anthology distributed by the International Library of Poetry titled, "Forever Spoken." Wendi Bird has written poetry for as long as she can remember. Poetry is and has been her outlet to express herself. When not writing, she can be found at local creeks looking for and admiring rocks. She has a passion for rocks, as they tell heir own stories.
