This edited collection focuses on the issues, practices and experience of using new technology for learning through distance education. The book explores case studies of learners from around the world and by drawing together their various experiences the book provides guidelines for effective use of technologies that practitioners and providers will be able to make use of. The book promotes cross-cultural and multi-disciplinary perspectives, acknowledges gender issues and proposes context-sensitive guidelines for learning technologies use.
