Platinum selling LA-based duo FRENSHIP – Brett Hite and James
Sunderland – release their highly anticipated debut album Vacation, on
Counter Records (part of the Ninja Tune family, featuring collaborations with
Bastille & Yoke Lore.
Full of warm harmonies, propulsive melodies, spiralling synths and pristine song
writing, Vacation is an album about searching. It examines the nuances of
relationships and the idea of happiness and home – the duo’s hot-cold
relationship with Los Angeles serving as one of the inspirations for the new
songs.
FRENSHIP, whose brilliant production chops and diverse inspirations colour their
wide-angle indie-pop songs, garnered multiple gold and platinum certifications
around the world for the 2016 global hit Capsize with Emily Warren. Now, the
duo returns poised to take their music to a whole new level.
“…a 13-track exploration of honest emotion and lyrical melodies. There are playful homages to the music they love most, and raw examinations of love and life's most complicated highs and lows.” - Billboard
“FRENSHIP are aptly named. A project that unites two distinctly different musicians, the pair craft an absorbing alt-pop vision that is shot through with lucid electronics. The duo's rounded, nuanced debut album ‘Vacation’ is out now, and it's a cracking listen, so vibrant and yet also enriching. Dan Smith from Bastille makes a guest appearance, and it should – if there is any justice – take the duo to the next level.” - Clash
