The night visions of the Venetian lagoon are the theme of this glorious collection of photographs by Luca Campigotto. His moody, empty landscapes speak of an Italy far removed from the colourful, familiar tourist images. Juxtaposing black and white photos of traditional, theatrical Venice with images of the citys industrial area, Marghera, this is a hauntingly beautiful and utterly original take on one of the worlds most photographed cities.
Luca Campigotto was born in Venice in 1962. His work has been exhibited extensively in Italy and abroad, and he is the author of several books, including Venetia Obscura and Molino Stucky 1895 - 1995.
