Description

This study examines victimization data collected during the Southern Ute Indian community Safety Survey, a study of crime and violence on the Southern Ute Indian reservation located in Ignacio, Colorado USA. It was found that poor, young, female, Indians, experienced higher rates of violent victimization. When compared to non-Indians, it was also found that simply being an Indian made Indians more likely to become a victim of violence than the non-Indians in this study.
