Shannon Whittington is a lifelong patriot who has always wanted to find a way to reach out and help veterans. Her and her husband, Matt, worked together to come up with the idea of Walk with Warriors. As an author coach who helps authors through the entire writing and publishing journey, Shannon worked with the veterans to help them understand the importance of this project. The response was overwhelming, in such a profound way! Shannon lives in Oklahoma City, OK and is a mother of two, and wife to a Marine. Shannon has made it her mission to make people more aware of what our veterans, and their families, experience and to do her part to be sure ALL veterans are recognized and given the help they need. Jeff Hensley spent 21 years as a fighter pilot in the United States Navy. He completed two combat deployments to Iraq before retiring from the military and pursuing a Master's in mental health counseling from the University of North Texas. Today, Mr. Hensley is the Clinical Director at Equest in Dallas, Texas where he runs an equine therapy program for veterans and military families called, "Hooves for Heroes." In addition, he serves as a Leadership Fellow for the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA), a Fellowship Alumnus for The Mission Continues (TMC) and a Squad Leader for TMC's Dallas 1st Platoon. In 2013, Mr. Hensley was honored with a Congressional Veterans Commendation Award from Texas' 3rd District. Mr. Hensley resides in Frisco, TX with his wife (also a USN veteran), three children, and four dogs.
