Zoran Kacic played goalkeeper for the Yugoslavia senior national team in 105 games as well as in 55 games for junior national team. He participated at the Montreal Olympics in 1976, The World Championship in Cali in 1975, The Europe Championship in Wien in 1974, The Mediterranean and Balkan games and many other international tournaments. He was a member of the first Expert Council of the Croatian Water Polo Federation established in 1991. Additionally he has been a member of Croatian Water Polo National Team Committee since 1999 as an assistant coach of the national team participating in a number of major European and World events and for eight years he was close assistant to Ratko Rudic in which period Croatia acquired its greatest success: the gold medal at the Olympic Games in London 2012, gold medal at the World Championships in Melbourne 2007 and at the European Championships in Zagreb 2010. Zoran Kacic is also the author of the "Program for Youth Water polo Schools". He participated as a lecturer at many seminars for water polo coaches organized by national Water Polo Federations of Turkey, Iran, Greece, Portugal, England, Slovenia, Montenegro, USA, Italy, Serbia and Croatia. At these seminars, he held lectures about water polo goalkeeper, physical preparation for goalkeeper and fundamentals of water polo technique and tactics (theory and video sequences), trying to transfer successfully his knowledge and experience to other coaches. Zoran Kacic was born in Split, Croatia. He graduated from The Faculty of Electrical, Mechanical Engineering and Naval Architecture, at the University of Split, Department of Electronics.
